chain problems on 300ex

i just bought myself a 99 300ex had to replace chain and sprokets but my master link keeps snappin on me...any way to fix that? is there a certain way to set the front sproket or something that i missed?

I am wondering if the clip was on wrong so it pulled it weird. possible. i would make sure it is pointing toward the back of the machine when it is on top of the rotation. otherwise i would find a did masterlink or call the manufacturer of your chain and see if they have a stronger one that you can use. it should not break on a new chain. steve

Check that the alignment from front to rear sprockets is not causing the chain to flex from left to right. Or perhaps if you are using a chain guide, it got tweaked. Last resort, switch to the rivet style master link.
