View Full Version : ohlins and racetech ? please clear up

i have ohlins longtravels and i need them refreshed and re sprung a local shop says they can rebuild them using racetech parts how will that work you cant tell me they will use the same oil and the same springs(maybe) i just dont know should i pay to send them to ohlins or are they telling the truth let me know your opinion

They may mean using racetech seals and parts for the shock. I would not let them switch to racetech valves though. I do not know your local shop, but there are several places I trust to service and revalves/spring any shock. Some times the even work better than the original valving.

We use plenty on race tech parts for shock services here and have been really happy with them. The stock ohlins pistons work just fine. We would respring them and use the stock pistons and revalve them.

what about the shock oil is there anyway i could get a quote on this from you c&d btw thank you both
