I know lots of guys are running 450R front shocks on the 400 and also on 250R's. I have see guys run YFZ450 front shocks on the R's as well.

But has anybody tried them on a 400EX ? I have not seen that one and was wondering how they might do on stock a arms.

Sounds like the Yamaha front shocks might be the way to go. A little more work to put on that is no big deal.

Most everyone I have heard about running 450R shocks on the front say they are to stiff unless you have them built.

Sounds like the Yamaha shocks may be just right.

Thanks for the info guys.

I got the yamaha shocks and really like them. nice ride, handles well. I've done everything from jumping to hard trail riding.

had them on +2 arms and were awesome for trails and dunes, a little soft for MX.

I really like the look of your 400.

I have been building my R from a frame this past summer. Trying to get our rides ready for the fall-spring ride time. This up comming summer if funds allow, I am wanting to tear down my wife's 400 and get it done up nice. I would like it to come out looking something like yours does.
