Hi everyone! well my problem is that Im going to buy an atv for racing, which quad should I buy? a ktm 450 xc, LTR 450 or a 09 Polaris 525? I have heard that the 09 outlaws are awesome, how it stands aganist a ltr? Im looking for a near race ready atv for BAJA racing (desert), please help me!!!

Any class restrictions? If you can run the 525, a 525IRS would be ideal.

The suki is too wide and low in stock form.
The KTM's are pretty well decked out, and I hear there are deals to be had on them.....

I would definately go with the IRS. Suzuki is a great quad but not for desert stuff. The KTM's are way overpriced and not actually "race ready" like they want you to believe.

I like the Outlaw but for Pro level racing the engine crankshaft should be rebuilt to Dakar standard. It has won long distance rally races in Europe,Africa and Australia. The Lt450 can be made in to a very good desert racer it has won the Dakar and the Baja 500.
If I was starting now I would go with the Honda 700XX the only draw back is the rear wheels.

I say try them if you can, do some research on them, And go for a good dealer that will take care of you when you need them.

Posting in a polaris outlaw thread will most likely, although not from the posts so far, give you a biased answer on what to get.

i have some outlaws from last season to sell and i also have some new ones for $5299 for a 450 or 525 straight axle polaris. we also just put up a new b team program for them. check it out
