400ex drag bike!!!! i know a lot of people on this site wont understand why i set my bike up like this, but i dont care what you all think. im posting this for the people who can appreciate a bike like mine. there is no rule saying banshees are the only ones set up for drag racing. this is my baby, and she is a beast...... there are a ton of bad banshees out there that i cant touch, but there are a whole bunch more than i can demolish. so do your best. post good or negative post. i want to here them all.

Wow, you must have gotten a bad batch, because my stockers hook up like mad...too good actually. I dont run them in the summer because they drive it forward instead of sliding. I run my stockers in the winter because they will let me keep up with the sportsman's until they stop;). There are quite a few drag quads running the otushu's.

ok..ok...its a 465 big bore, with a 41mm alky carb.it has full drag porting done to the head.the only thing it doesnt have is a stroker crank.but the inside of the motor has the best of everything.the only reason i dont use the stockers on 1/8 mile is because its an asphault track, and hoosiers hook up harder. dont think the +8 is to small,we ride in the dunes a lot and a bike just like this one with a +8 was pullin the front end up in 4th...as for the times. its a new motor and actually hasnt made it to the track yet. but once i do go ill post the time slip on here. now im not one to brag so i wont. i know its going to kill a lot of shees, and its going to demolish raptors with port work and high compression pistons. the baddest 505 ive ever seen was the one built by the same guy that built my motor. evrything he touches is golden.anyway, the 505 he built was in front of a trinity 727 raptor. so im hoping to be right on side of it. i should be in the low 60 hp range. so i hope this is enough info for everyone

oh yea!!! it wont be long before i trick out the engine and all the other extras with chrome. side cases and all.

Hats off to ya bro its looking good!! looks like we got a little in common!! You say thats a +8 swingarm??? it doesnt look that long?? I mostly drag race in dirt or sand and in my condition anything over a +6 is TOO long!! You say a bike like yours cant keep the front end down with a +8 in the sand?? man he must have not been dragging very long!! My friend has a tricked drag 250R that pushes 85HP and he keeps his front end down with a +4 swingarm!! You drag on asphault??? That would really be the only reason to go that long! There is no doubt that a good built 505 is WAY faster than a 727 Raptor,,my friend has one!! I think with running alky you might get pretty close to the 60HP range. If I had to guess I would say mine is somewhere between 60-65HP on gas,,,Im hoping to do 70HP on the dyno with my 44mm Lectron alky carb, but I will see soon!! I started to chrome everything on my bike but my friend with the R done his(at the only place close we know of) and after a year it all started to chip, so I decided to just powdercoat everything with sparkles in it and everything else be polished aluminum(its lighter for drag racing anyway!)

Oh yeah and on the subject of building a drag 400 instead of a Banshee,,,,Well the reason i done it is because its almost impossible to compete in the modded 2 stroke class and be competitive, no matter what you have!! Everybody and their grandmother has a built Banshee!!! I wanted to race the 4 stroke class, and i know in this class I have a damned good chance, you cant really make a 400EX any faster than mine has been built to do!!! I race in the 400 class, and ill race in the Raptor, DS 650 class too,,,,Ill take home 2 cash prizes;)

I HOPE TO GOD that you would win both classes b/c you need somehow to make some money to buy a new camera. I would be adding some nos and turbo on that thing to be for sure.

chadexr i would like to see pics of your bike as well. i admit in dirt it will probably be to long but on asphault, and sand it will be just right. besides. im packin a lot of weight to keep the traction stuck tight to the ground. thats why im going to let one of my lighter freinds run it in the 1/8 just to see the times it can produce. but the sand is my territory. we are talking about making a trip to little sahara in march.....i cant wait to see what its all about.

Have you not been to Little Sahara yet?? Man its a nice place to ride! And you can bet that you will find out what your bike has because some of those guys dont play!! I havent been to LS since Oct. We are all planning to go to Glamis in March so i dont know if I will be there any time in March.
Here is a pic of my bike. This was before I had the longer swingarm put on it,,a lot of polished aluminum and more powdercoating has went on it too, and some graphics!! I will have final pics of it this weekend!!!
