Today one of my RAZR MX tires got a flat. Something ended up puncturing the sidewall. Anyways, They are only a couple months old and have a ton of life on them. Could I put a tube in it and it be fine? Or just toss it.

plug it. my brother got a hole in the side wall of his stock tire. he plugged it and was jumping 30 ft doubles and stuff and it never lost any air.

Would a plug be better then slapping in a tube?

If you run low pressure, a tube won't last. A plug has my vote. If you do it right, you won't have a problem.

I had that happen to one of the holeshot fronts on my 400ex down at Wayne National. Luckily I had a spare rim & tire to finish the day with, but what I did is pop one side off the rim, clean the inside around the puncture real well, scuff it up, and patch it from the inside. Worked very well!!

If you run bead locks i would run tubes if no beadlocks than plug or patch it

I run beadlocks. I was just wondering if they would hold up on the track.

I RUN TUBES IN MY HIPERS XC RACING AND IT ACTS AS EXTRA PUNTCURE RESISTANCE

I've had as many as 8 plugs in one tire, and it still held air. I've also had as many as 4 plugs in one hole, and that still held air. I personally wouldn't waste my time with tubes. If you pop the tube, you're right back at square one and have to break the wheel down again. Save yourself the headache and time, and spend 2 minutes plugging it.

Or do it right and get some tireballs:D

The hole is about as big, as the end, of a ballpoint pen.

I could fit 2 fingers in the hole that took 4 plugs. 2 plugs, at the most, would be all that's needed for a hole the size of yours.

2 plugs in a tiny hole???????

i say patch it and put some super glue on the patch.

i put super glue on one of my razr mx fronts cause it had a rip in the sidewall and u could peel the rubber back and it would leak so i just super glued it and its worked for a year+ and i dont even own the bike anymore lol

RIDEREDson his tire takes bout 4mins to go all the way flat so no way 2 plugs will fit in that tiny hole

LOL I just re-read what I wrote.:p I've never tried patches, but I've been told by several people that they won't hold because of the sidewall flexing...makes sense.

I had a hole right on the corner of the sidewall and I used a tire patch. There were my practice tires ran with a set of beadlocks but they got put through enough abuse and held up fine for me.
