I'll be there... depending on whether or not I get my LT-R fixed after last weekend will determine if I get to race or not :(

As for the weather... I'm like 3-4 hours away and it's been raining for oh.... 3 weeks straight.

LOL That's what I've been telling myself the whole time. We had a SORCS race Sunday and I was actually pretty impressed with the conditions, the track was nice... not as much of a mess as I had anticipated, hopefully Yadkinville will be the same way.

I'm about 35 minutes south of Yadkinville and the forecast says spotty showers and low 80's for the next week. But, today was 80% rain and it was sunny with no rain.

Ya'll have not been hit by this monsoon? Holy hail. My driveway has been flooded for 2 days, I figured ya'll would have atleast gotten some rain.

Wow, I'm really surprised. We haven't had a break from the rain in literally weeks.

His goal is just to finish:p If he does ok here and at powerline, it is where he will run next season unless he can do well enough to move up to A.

I'll be there. Last one of the year for me. Can't wait.

This race is where it comes full circle for me this year. After going to watch this race every year since it started in 05' I said every year I was going to race gncc's. This year has been a BLAST and I've loved every minute of it.

This weekend can't come soon enough. ;)

Good luck to Cody this weekend. I'll be cheering for him.

i wish i was able to i'm stuck at home till the ironman.! good luck cody. are you guys going to run the ironman?

Pappy

No, we havent run the Ironman since 2004.

We will only run that if Cody is ever in a points battle...thats prime time rut around here so our focus is on sticking an arrow into something with a big rack!

Well, it came and went:p

Cody raced the afternoon race this round, his first GNCC since Powerline almost a year ago. He was all healed up, in good shape and ready to give B class a go.

This area is usually dry and its normally a dust filled race, but not this year.Rain misted all day and it came down harder just minutes before the start.

He said he was pretty nervous knowing these guys were fast and he did not want to get in the way:p

A tangle just before teh riders entered the woods gave him a shot at moving up and he took it. Mid pack heading into the woods was better then the end of teh pack but he said he would have prefered to have been last just so he could get used to the pace.

Lap 1 was so so and he said he was not comfortable at all.

Lap 2 he had hooked up with 2 other riders and they were moving up through the field. He passed me in the woods just before finishing the second lap and was looking pretty good. He gave me a war cry as he raced out of sight:p

Pappy

He said he stayed with the other riders as they started the 3rd lap and he admited they were riding as fast as he had ever run before in the woods.

I asked him if he was riding over his head and he said no way....they were riding good and smooth and moving out.

Somewhere around the 1/2 way point on lap 3, he said he clipped a tree with his rear tire and the wreck was over before he knew what happened. It sent him over the bars and flyin through the air where he hit a tree with his right side and hip then fell to the ground:( He has a nasty bruise about the size of a soccer ball but is ok.....just sore. He had to get help to get the quad back on all 4 wheels as it was an uphill push and he said he felt horrible after the crash. He knew nothing was broke but had his bell rung really good.

The quad was pretty much done due to the bars being bent really bad and he tried making it in to complete the 3rd lap but wasnt able to.

Not sure where he will run at Powerline, but he could have finished on the lead lap which should have given him a top 10 finish in the class all things considered.

Oh well...thats racin!

Just got the first layer of muck off...looks like the stem bent where the bar mounts attach. The two guys that helped him tried bending the bars up and couldnt:p
