400ex starting

hey i got a 400ex with the big bore kit k&n air filter after i put the big bore kit in i noticed it takes a lot longer to start and dosnt want to start cold which is normal but when i was racing i was always the last one off the line almost is their any way to go about getting a quicker start

you could try to pump up the pilot to get some more gas faster. that is about the only thing i can think of right now, steve

if its cranking a little slow a 05-07 gsx-r 1000 battery has like 50 more CCA than the EX battery and is the same size... and a raptor 660 has even more CCA but its taller than the other 2 batterys

i could try the bigger battery every time i start it cold it needs the choke sometimes i have to push start it before the race starts that kinda sucks but my goal this winter is to make it faster then a honda 450 if its possible get the cam and try to get a 450 carb new exhaust see what it does
