According to page 16 of the how to build whoops the way 400ex28 wants rule book.... then ya.

All i see when i watch that is you should deff start to at least triple in or maybe quad in.

One_Bad_400

any closer together and they would become rough and not smooth rolling. i think they are perfect where they are. but ya i dont know about quading them but i would probably try tripling

ATVMX33
09-21-2009, 02:57 PM
yeah...i will be tripling them soon..lol..they are to close to try quading into them though...i just fliiped my quad foward on another jump on my track so i dont want to do it again for a little while..hahaha

not really...just build some and see what you like...you can sorta see how big they are compared to the quad in the vid though
they are probably something like 2 ft high and 7 ft apart

nah lol. i wish i had room to make a nice track like that here. we used to have a few doubles that were 15 ft apart and 4 deep that we rode like that but that got boring only going over 2 jumps worth. we had a 20 fter at one time now at another track we have a 40 and some other small stuff. lol. nothing like that though. i wish everyone i ride with could do it on their bikes. they puss out all the time. steve

haha i was just pointing something out to make them more challenging to get across. most whoop sections around here you can't just double though them, just giving out my opinion. have fun building the track though man wish i had the equipment to do it.

The rhythm section at NCMP was cool once you manned up at went for it. You started into them hitting the first one mid throttle 3rd gear then you had to keep increasing your speed to clear the next one and so on. They got further apart as you got deeper into them.

They just took them out though and put in a tabletop and a double. This is better for racing because more people hit the tabletop and the double.

dude those woops are sick! how big are those doubles? it looks like u hit them in like 2nd or 3rd but there pretty good size.

They are more of a rhythm/roller section than whoops.

This section is very very deceiving. They start out small and progressively get bigger towards the end. I used to tripple in, tripple, and blitz the rest.

nice whoops i like how they are spaced. but ya when u get use to them id try to triple or quad through them like another guy said

ATVMX33
09-22-2009, 08:45 AM
i tried...doesnt work to well cause you just get a mouthful of dirt from getting thrown into the next one...they are too close and steep to really work like that

300extreme#8
09-22-2009, 10:59 AM
u can still blitz them. we had some built just like that and we doubled, then tripled and started blitz the last few. then finally grew the ball to triple in and case it and hold the wood down and hold on. it was crazy. And scary at first

ATVMX33
09-22-2009, 11:05 AM
yeah...sorta works...lol...

at least if you pin it you will make it to the other side one way or another..

whoops are scary to me. Once you start into the ones I mentioned earlier at NCMP, there wasn't much option for backing off. First time I ever tried them, I got bucked over the bars and then ran over by my quad. I had swelling on the upper and lower spine areas with some numbness in one of my legs. I still have numbness in the skin around my lower back...some days are worse than others. It will be 3 years in January since this happened.

I am glad NCMP took them out. Plus, it was really rough on the frame. They were much deeper than any of the ones in this post though. Only a couple of guys on dirt bikes could triple any of them. They got so deep that I was constantly bottoming out on the first one which made it really difficult to clear the rest of them.

It is all fun until somebody gets their eye poked out. :D :D :D

cool my mom works up that way. there used to be a nice practice track in brownstown right off 222 and it was free but it got torn down in favor of a baseball field  now i ride my pitbike around my yard lol. i usually only ride my bike at breezewood (2.5 hours away) and i often go to the coal piles at trevorton (2 hours away) with some friends for the weekend, which i'm doing this weekend. other than that theres not really any places to ride around here. what about up your way?

ATVMX33
09-22-2009, 04:14 PM

I hate whoops like that cuz there is no way to go fast through them... I guess thats why you practice them lol. If you could skim them that would be cool.

The last time I tried to blitz a set of whoops like that it resulted in a broken collar bone. Too steep and too far apart. The best whoops to "safely" blitz are roller whoops close together. IMO whoops are probably one of the scariest, but most fun parts of motocross.

Thats what seperates amature and pro lol. I think its possible to "blitz" any type of whoops some are just harder than others. If you could skim a set like that, then when you get to normal non rythme section like whoops it should be really easy and you should be able to go way faster.
