Figured it would get more traffic here. I have a ESR 310 jug, it needs a new piston and to be bored, It has a black cool head, Bottom end to mid range port work by ESR, It was on a 86 bottm end with a 88-89 long rod spacer plate motor. And it was setup for pump gas. 425$+ shipping.
Its not real deep but needs bore. It will need to go to a 72.25 piston. This is its first bore.

How do you figure? They're only $599 new and that comes with a piston, rings, and gaskets. At $425 plus $50 for a bore and another $150 for piston, rings and gaskets your at $625 (over the cost of a new kit!) and you've lost one bore out of the cylinder life.

i believe this is the older style pro x cylinder which in some cases is superb.

I was thinking the same thing. Plus ESR's porting, I hear has alot
to be desired.:ermm:

See the E1 cast into the cylinder castings side, thats one of the new ESR cylinders, not the Pro-x.

Depends on the head stud placement.
I dont know a measurment to tell you how far apart they should be to just sit it right down on a CT jug & work, but if it didnt, a little rat tail filing would do the trick.

I've interchanged a few over the years, never liked the angled plug hole on the Pro-x, so, if thats all you wanted was the ESR head, I wouldnt let the studs hold me back from getting one.

Hummm, it must be raining down in ol Ms just like it is here in NC :D  .
Yeah, dont let the studs hold you back cause them ESR heads are nice.
That solid head, you have any trouble with it, cause they were bad in the past.
