i have a bad tps sensor bike starts right up idles perfect but hit the gas and it breaks up bad and backfires can i just buy a new tps and install it someone told me you need to have some kind of volt meter wich doesnt make sense to me i cant just get a new one and replace it thanks

You can replace it but you have to adjust it when you put the new one in. That is pretty confusing from what I've heard. I've had two go out this year and just replaced the throttle body both times. It was easier but cost more.

You sure its the TPS sensor? It sounds like the same symptoms mine had. Mine had a bad fuel pressure regulator.

Fuel pressure reg. is also a common problem. It's harder to test for.

My best suggestion is if you have a friend that will let you try his throttle body it'd be easy to rule out the TPS.

That's what I've always had to do just start switchin parts off the practice bike lol. Good luck!

My guess would be, in this order-

1-Fuel pressure regulator
2-Fuel Injector
3-TPS
4-Fuel pump.

I had all but the TPS go out on mine. You can get a $30 fuel pressure guage at any automotive store to check all you fuel system out, its super easy.
