gas tank leaking

i have heard you can use fiberglass resin to repair tanks when they leak. my tank has a spot about 2 inches from the petcock that sweats out gas. if the resin doesn't work do you guys have any other methods?

just pick up a used tank you can get one for around $40 shipped, unless you need a oversize tank.

its actually off of a yamaha bw200. i posted it here because i didn't see that model in the forum and i know that the 250r guys are the most knowledable. they don't make tanks for the bw200.
