they are interchangable but i am unsure if the grind on the hotcams is the same for both. you can do some scouting on their website and see if the stage 3 for the xr is the same part number as the ex. steve

they look the same. 1057-3 is the part number for both of them so you are good to go with the xr cam. steve

interesting reading.i always thought that a stage 3 was the one to have for a 440.i'll take any advice onboard.
my mods are,k&n air filter,no air box lid,full scorpion exhaust,choke removed,re jetted,440 kit,16/36 sprockets,18" rear tyres,mx riding only

i would suggest a stage 2 since it is not stroked or a real big bore. i think this would give you the mid range that you want for mx. just my .02 though. Steve

to be honest steve, i was more edging towards the stage 2,instead of the stage 3.but they all advertise the stage 3 for 440 or strokers.mid range sounds better to me

stage 2 is the choice then. i would not like a stage 3 for mx i dont think. i like the real low end stuff so the stage1 is where it is at for me. lol you wont be dissapointed in a stage 2. steve

my reading tells me that u can still use the stock valves and springs and rockers,?.i looked at the webcams, but they say u need hardened rockers and shorter valves as there cam is more aggresive, simular to the sparks cam

yup, you can run stock everything with the hotcams. webcams need everything to be hardened. or at least your rockers have to be. depending on what webcam you get you may need to use shorter valves. steve

im going to go with my instinct from day 1,stage 2 hotcam, see if it livens the old girl up.next challenge is to stop it revin its boll*cks off, seems very short geared even tho in running a 16/36 set up
