Hi all,

New to the forum and just picked up an 86 250R today.

I'm trying to find some things out about it. Other than the exhaust and spacers on the rear axles it appears to be all stock.

The exhaust has PSI embossed in it.

Anybody know anything about this brand? I've googled and come up with nothing.

Thanks a bunch.

I had the bike out earlier and cleaned the carb. The float was sticking and fuel was all over the place. Got that taken care of.

I'm dealing with two bald front tires and one bald rear. the other rear has tread but not holding air over 10 minutes....

Sucks not to be able to ride a new to me machine.

It's in the garage till tomorrow. I'll shoot some pics and throw them on here and hopefully we can hammer the exhaust out.

IIRC,PSI was a killer set up... they were really really fast motors... when they would stay running... they had some really cool ideas... do they still make motors? i know alot of the 250r aftermarket stuff is dieing out... sparks wont touch one...

The pipe extends out in front of the cylinder and bends around the frame up next to the A-Arms. At the bend towards the back of the bike it gets pretty fat and then turns up towards the tank and then bends back to the rear and tapers faily quickly down to the small tube headed to the silencer. Gets small around the rear of the tank. I know....a pic is worth a thousand words. Get that tomorrow.

sounds like bruce's rev pipe. if it turns up just behind the fender then almost makes a 90 deg turn and follows the gas tank back? i grew up not far from psi and had a few of his pipes. that one wasn't one of my favorites narrow top end power band. good drag and 1/2 mile pipe. i think that was one of his early pipe designs. late 80s. he moved out west some where. i called him a few years back. he will still make 250r stuff, said he had a couple of 425 top ends left.

if this is a midrange pipe i would love to have it. I love the look of the psi pipe.

Does anyone have any pictures?

Bike has OEM front plastics but they are deteriated and brittle. Hope I did ok for 800 bones.
