Has anyone ever tried a larger diameter rear tire on the 400EX for some more ground clearance, if so what diameter did you use, did it mess up the low gear pulling power did it still handle decent, any changes to the sprockets needed to get it to pull at lower speeds with a larger tire, what is a good all around tire besides the top dollar maxis tire, has anyone ever purchased tires from this company

true 22s would get you an inch extra. any 22 would work. i run some gbc mud sharks that are 21". i gear down to a 14 tooth if i run any 21 or 22 inch. this brings the gearing back down from when you add tires on it. steve

I've got 20's on the back, 21's on the front... and they are meaty tires lol. I get plenty of power to the ground, and mine goes nowhere near 80 lmao. I'm one down in the front (13t) and stock rear (BIG IMPROVEMENT BY ITSELF).

I like my 20s but I'm about to switch to the new 8x8.5 rims with 18" tires and put my sprocket back to stock in the front for the track.

i bought a set of mud sharks off of the forum. they are 21's and the seem awesome. only rode once on them keeping them for the winter. they are 6 ply and seem very well built. we had mud sharks on all of the quads on the farm that i worked on when i was in highschool and they would go through anything.

I'm running Kenda Knarlys, 21x11x9. The added ground clearance is nice for trails, they do sap more power than the stockers, but it's barely noticeable.
