Found this for sale in my area. I am new to 2-strokes and new to MX racing. What would this be worth in todays economy? and would it be fun to race against race ready 450r's? I know it probably won't beat them, but can I at least give'm hell?

he was at 3400. said he might go 3000.

I told him that i was sitting on 2000, and might could get close to 2500.

is that 330 engine a solid engine?

3 would be acceptable but you got to remember how sweet the economy is. you dont want to buy something that if you loose your job you have to sell it.

i mean stock swingarm, stock rear shock, stock frame. its just not a 4,000 dollar 250r yet. but it is super nice. 330 is a pretty dam reliable engine and will blow the 450's away if cut by neil.

yah well the economy and my job worry me. plus the wife is pregnant with the first baby. so i can't get in too deep. and i would definately need to be able to sell it quick if i needed.

So 2500, is the best low price info we got so far.

What do others think about the price and the bike?

I think around 2500 to 3000 is reasonable. It looks to be like a very clean and well maintained quad. But if your kinda of worried about the future and your job don't go any higher than you feel comfortable.

There has been great attention to detail on this quad and it is well worth 3000.00 however we are seeing full bad *** aftermarket chassis 250rs going for 5000.00 and less wich is a shame for everybody espesially this seller. BUT if you are on a very tight budget then this is a GREAT deal for you and you should buy it because if you find a bike for 2000.00 or maybe even 2500.00 it likely will be a pile of junk!!!

i still think the swingarm is stock, look specifically at the tab mount.

Plus works is nothing to scream about even if it is a works.

I hear you. But people down here don't have any R's to choose
from, I think they would pay. I may have overreacted on the
price. I would say, anything less than $3000, the guys crazy.

Dude, you've fell of your rocker. I'd say this bike worth about $3200........but saying all that, if you can get it for $2500 I'd say go for it.

That bike is VERY clean!!! I wish I had those graphics on mine.

Well if I buy it I will cut you a good deal on the plastics. I like them when they have more of the stock looking plastics and graphics. White plastics with red 250r graphics. Classic.

So maybe his price isn't too bad. Just slightly out of my range.

one of my points to him. and they are not exactly comparable, but shows the economy. I, prior to having my budget cut, was going to pic up a race ready 2008 LT-R450 with quite a few good mods to it for $4000. Less than 15 hours on the bike. and my offer was the best he had, and he still has it. been for sale for about 6 months.

tcs and pep used works parts with they're internals. i've had an axis rear that leaked if you went over a jump more than 2' high, had it rebuilt by axis twice and 1 jump and it was done. i've seen elkas break their shaft in half, i've had 20yr old works that never been serviced still work pretty stinkin good. people put way too much emphasis on anodized bodies and fancy knobs. that showa rear shock can be revalved and feel just as good, if not better, than any other aftermarket shock available.

machine looks well maintained, he should be able to get something in the low $3k area.

don't get an atv if you might need your money back quickly, not gonna happen. pick yourself up an older dirtbike for $1200 or so.

Can't do the dirt bike. Brother-in-law is in a wheel chair because of an accident racing. So my compromise, thus far, is to stay on 4 wheels. Most of the time.
