I've having a problem with getting the head cover off, I removed the 12 studs and it was stuck, few taps with a hammer to loosen it but nothing. I can pick up the whole front end when pulling on it. I've got some pictures of the studs I removed, maybe I'm missing something? The bike's an '03 and I got it used in '04 and this is the first time I know of that the head cover needs to be removed.

Oh, and while I was draining the oil I had a bit of water in it, anyone know where water could be getting in at? It wasn't a lot, but even a little is more than I want.

Okay thanks guys, I thought that might be it but everywhere I looked people talked about removing the 12 8mm's then pulling it off. I didn't wanna take that one off if it was holding something up on the inside.

Water could only come in through air box/carb/intake, a loose or missing hose or vent tube, through exhaust, through spark plug hole if there isnt one in there. As long as oil isnt leaking anywhere then it shouldnt be getting in anywhere else. Just let it sit empty overnight to let everything sit then dump a partial quart of oil through and it should get it if its only a little. Once you fill it for good you can unscrew the little screw below where the two oil lines go in to drain a little and see if its milky.

it realy didnt look like water in the oil... it would be a caramel brown color and would look kinda milky if there was water in it

Well the first few drops that came out of the drain under the oil reservoir were water, either that or clear oil. There were a few milky swirls that were the caramel brown color before the rest of the oil got dumped in there, but like I said it really wasn't a whole lot.
