Could I use a 88 TRX 250x as a donor bike for making a 250r? There is one on my craigslist that is selling for about $800. it is not in great shape, but I guess I am looking for a project. I like the vintage Hondas and would like a sweet play toy.

Is this going to be too much fab work to make it happen? What about if I used this to make a Hybrid? Is it the same frame as the 250r's?

Thanks for your help and information.

I think the 250x is shorter and the geometry may be different. Not sure.I think this has been talked about before. Probably more trouble than it's worth. I think a 400ex would be a better staring point as the geometry is closer and I have seen them with 250r motors in them before.
