can someone show me how to do these?

a) (5x - 7)(2x - 3)(x + 2)

b) (p + q)(p^2 - pq + q^2)

c) (p - q)(p^2 + pq + q^2)

multiply

p^2 means to the power of 2. or squared.

I can tell you the answers, but showing the work is the problem.

dont you just distribute to each one? like the 5x to the 2x and then -3 and the x and then the 2 all separate? then same for -7?

FOIL method, when you have three sets like that, FOIL 2 of them, get that answered then take the final set, like in b and c, and take each term times each term in the longer set

FOIL first outer inner last, solve the problem in those steps, if you really dont know how to do anything then, i dont know how to explain it...

how'd you get the answer without working through it? These are the type of problems that require you to show your work. Just foil it out and thats it.

We're goin off of what I remeber from highschool so I hope this is right.

a) (5x - 7)(2x - 3)(x + 2)

5x times 2x=10x
10x times x=10x
-7x-3=21
21+2=23

(10x+23)

On a side note, kinda weird to me but you got the same birthday as me and you live in the same town I want to move to. Call me weird.:p

great site Ralph!!! Where was it all my life!!! Its definetly going to help me with homework. I HATE! not being able to check even answer problems and my terrible professors love giving them as homework!

Haha, yeah that site is pretty cool. Its kind of a useless nerd search engine. Try typing in your birthday.

anyway, here is number 2. I know I am just giving you the solution but I learned this kinda stuff by example.

Plus, you still gotta do number 3... :)

hahaha the birthday thing is pretty cool too.

As like you Ralph, I am a sucker for this, being that I am a mathematics major... Sometimes i wonder why i am, but other times I just yell uncontrollably about sequences and such.
