Does a 1995 CR250R motor fit into a 1986 TRX250R with out major modifications? I appreciate the feed back from all the EXRIDERS members.

Thanks

Matthew

im pretty sure it will. the trx250r motor was based on the cr250r motor. im not 100% tho

Had a friend that put a 89cr onto a 85 atc 250r and it fit but he lost the use of the power valve because the motor does not have the inner workings to operate the power valve. If you want more power send it to B&B. I had a 250r atc with one of there cylinders on it and it hauled *****. also you can use a 89 cr250 head gasket for more comp.

I think that everything will mount up close except that the CR has no counter balencer so the front mounts will have to be moved back farther. It will vibrate terribly though. As for grafting the CR clyinder on the R I am not sure. Unless you are getting the CR cylinder/motor for cheap why not just buy a PV cylinder for your R??

The whole idea is to get the powervalve off the CR250 motor to fit on the TRX250R motor. I was just wondering if it will fit to do it as cheap as possible to obtain a powervalve motor.

Thanks for feedback

Matthew

I am sure someone can correct me on it but I think that the CR PV is gear driven and the R bottom end could not run the PV.

The 95 cylinder will not fit the TRX bottom end. A 1989 Cylinder will. If you want to see the differance just compare the base gaskets.

ftz used to or still might have a modified cr cylinder that runs on the 250r cases. it didn't use the powervalve though.
