Hey Pappy did you by any chance get any pics of the carbs on the Yamaha YFZR's?

im sure its for the XC guys carb bikes start faster enough than an efi that it can mean the difference between 1st and 3rd in the holeshot, do some research before you bash people dude

kind of comparing apples to oranges there. the auto industry has had efi a little longer and a truck and a race quad are 2 totally diffrent things

yes starting is i believe the number 1 reason they are doing it. Bill Ballance pulled the holshot yesterday like he used to when he was on the standard. very rarely did a carbed Yammi NOT get the holeshot in GNCC.

part of the reason suzuki and can am and kawi have been having mixed results on the holeshot all year

For XCR racing , a carbuerated quad is the way to go. Carb quads have already checked out from a dead quad start by the time the EFI quads start.

I call BS on that one man.

EFI may be UNDESIRABLE for XC racers, but the throttle response it provides is like gold for MX racers.

Not to mention turning a dial on an EFI tuner is MUCH easier than re-jetting a carb.

I wish I could put EFI on my 400ex. I love it on my dads 720r stroker:D

Love it or hate it its comming and here to stay. If anything efi will keep the tree huggers happier:D

I saw a picture from Justin Glaze at G4 that I can confirm it is a carburetor, but not nearly close enough that you could see anything. I could just barely see enough detail from the side to tell. But I could tell much easier that it was a 2010.

I heard through the grapevine that GT Thunder is working on a conversion kit. Sounds like it's going to be expensive though.:scary:
