SRH finished his first ever GNCC today!!!
Way to go!!! Proud of ya!!:D
thanks ken! i saw you out there snappin shots, my first lap was awesome until the 3 mile mark i got side way on a uphill and rolled 2 times, it normally wouldnt be an issue except i was strapped on the quad lol thanks to the 2 guys who flipped my quad back over for me and helped me get back on it , it was a fun time, but without being able to lean much it was a bit hairy in some sections:blah:
congrats...just finishing the race is a great

LOL..I was bouncing like a school girl when I seen ya...and was all but jumpin up and down when I saw you finish!!!
All heart man all heart!!
So what did ya think of it? Them guys haul eh?
i couldnt beleive how fast those can am guys were going....and the rath racing guys...insane for the size of those machines, it got way rougher in the woods than any mx track ive ever been on , so that was tough, like riding a bucking bull for a few miles, tried to stay out of the faster guys way as much as possible, i know they had to get frustrated in some of the off cambers , i had to thread the needle to make it thru without flipping i was at a creep at times.....being a mx guy it kinda spooked me to hear guys right on your *** hooting and hollering lol ..
.i did the entire race in 4x4 so i had no idea how to ride it in 4x4 at any sort of speed, should of practiced that more often i guess:p it was a relief to finish , felt like an accomplishment in its own

Here's the few pics that I did take. Nothing special, but at least its something haha.
Here's a pic of the starting area, from right where Bill was parked on his starting line, this is facing forward, and there was one class behind us still.

Here's Bill waiting on the starting line...

Here's another of Bill on the starting line with our buddy Greg (RC51450rider) ((I dont think Greg has logged on here in over 5 years though))...
http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e166/400exrider707/Unadilla%20GNCC%2009/BillGreg.jpg
Here's the first corner. Bill was one of the first guys off the line, despite having to start in neutral and then reach over and put it in gear, gotta love safety stuff. He was easily outrun to the corner by the field of sport quads and 450s...
http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e166/400exrider707/Unadilla%20GNCC%2009/Billfirstcorner.jpg
Here he is out in the middle of the track somewhere on lap #2, the only "action" shot I got, but I think he was aiming for me...
http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e166/400exrider707/Unadilla%20GNCC%2009/Billracing.jpg
Once he realized Greg and I were standing here, he pulled over for a breather for a couple minutes, and calmly explained to us how he had rolled over a few times, then drove off, leaving us scratching our heads... hahah

That's all I got, congrats again Bill!

btw do they run the same course @ dilla every gncc or do they change it up? i think id like to give it a shot again next season

Its usually basically the same, but they do change certain things up if an area is bad to begin with...sort of:D
Yadkinville in 2 weeks would be a good one....;)

haha, id consider it but i want to be better prepared next time, need to make some changes to the quad or get a new quad could use something slightly wider at least a bit more stable lol...def need to make some seating changes too...i realized about every shortcoming that thing had by the 2 hr mark it was alot of fun regardless

Hey SRH its ppeengines/Louie who helped you when you rolled your quad on the first lap. I see you posted in my thread too. I am super glad to see that you finished the race. A++++++++++ job. Man you had me scared there when you told me you were paralyzed before I knew your situation. I was about to haul butt up the hill to find someone to help you but you explained everything to me. Sorry I couldnt lift you up by myself, out of shape. HA HA. But I will tell you what, It was a pleasure meeting you the way we did, and you give hope to alot of people who can be down on their luck. You keep riding and doing what you do. Keep having fun and maybe we will meet up for another GNCC. Hoping to do the OHIO race this year. But dont know. Thanks
Louie
Congrats! You're definately an inspiration.

i havent decided yet, i would love to get a renegade 800 or 500, the wolverine is a real pig but its still fun, so im not sure yet if i could justify the $$$ to upgrade quads when i have fun on this one, if i keep it i could definetely use some shocks lol
thanks guys!

Shocks would help tremendously. I think we should look into one of the quick release seatbelts like they run on the harnesses, one with the cam disconnect. Might mean the difference between rolling with the quad or watching the quad roll by itself next time.
Awesome pics Ken! I saw you running around with the camera and I was almost going to run over and stop you, but I spent a large chunk of the morning waiting in line to sign Bill up and get the transponder. I bet I spent over two hours in lines total that day. It would have been a LOT easier if I knew what I was doing and the lines were labeled so new comers knew where to go and what to do.
