05 450r question?

Ok guys, this is my first post so be nice. I have a 400ex with new tires, plastic, sparks advanced timing key, full White Brothers E series, jet kit, etc. A guy wants to trade me an stock 05 450r that he says has a 06 motor that doesn't run. He says that he took the valve cover off and saw that the exhaust lobe was wore off the cam. Tells me that the valves may be bent. I have no problem working on this bike and would love to have it, but is it worth it?

I wouldn't trade. The 06 motor won't work in the 05 frame without modifications. And if he let the exhaust lobes wear down, no telling what else he neglected.

I traded a super clean very nice 2001 400ex with some goodies on it for an 04 stock 450r even trade. My 450r (which I still have today..this was nearly 3 years ago) was running fine. We both got what we wanted and neither had to pay anything. If i was trading I wouldnt mind doing some upgrades kind of work but I would certainly want it to be ridable. No motor work really
