View Full Version : mix matched inner engine cases

k, so i encountered total countershaft bearing meltdown last week, and the case is tore up pretty bad...ordered a new/used set of matching cases, when all i really needed was the left inner...so im curious if i could use the donor left with my original right inner...the ones i bought arent that great, but the left side is definately better than my own...and my bearings are better by far anyhow...thanks in advance guys
experience goes a lot farther than a manual sometimes

im trying to get this thing back together to go riding guys....does nobody know the answer, or do you all just read it and say"eh, he's a newbie, let him figure it out himself"? lol...i got a lot of work to do and my butt is sittin here waiting for someone to tell me if i can mixmatch the cases...this site seems pretty slow...maybe ya'll are just busy...i understand

Yes it can be done. I prefer them to match. I'm just weird that way though. lol good luck

no i appreciate your 30 seconds of time it took to answer my question...thank you very much...now i can at least get back to work...any ideas on how you get the bearings out that cant be tapped through?

you need a blind bearing puller.

I think you have to heat the case and beat the ever living f out of it.

cant get to the backside...i think Honda5 had it right...so...no way without special tool or what? its always something.................

I meant beat on the case after heating it. I thought they would drop out
