Went to my local honda dealer today wich much to my dismay does not carry the red honda hp chain lube anymore, all they had was the hp lube with the "white lithium" in it.

Does anyone know of a good clean lube that is like the HP in the red can?? I cant stand the chain wax and stuff like that. I bought a can of PJ chain lube and it was like spraying melted marshmallow on my chain:p nasty stuff!

I stopped using chain lube last year. I got alot of junk on my chain. I now use 6-in-1 belray, pb blaster white dry lube or liquid wrench. My chain stays alot cleaner and isn't kinking up. As it was doing before, it was real stiff, kinked up and attracted dirt. Take off your chain, soak it atf overnight. It will clean it and soak into the o-rings. Then throw away all chain lube you had. Some people in local enduro clubs use tranny fluid or atf. The favorite is liquid wrench regular stuff.

i have had pretty good luck with wd-40 it seems to stay pretty clean until you start to go through water then it wears off fast. steve

If I take it off, tranny fluid works great, If it stays on I wash it with soap and water then spray wd-40 and wipe it clean with a rag. I do this after every ride & the chain has had no issues.

I used the Maxima chain wax on my 600RR and ZX10...worked perfect for that because it would tack up and not fling off. Works like crap on my wheelers. I've had pretty good luck with the Klotz so far (red label can)...you definitely don't need a lot of it, and it doesn't seem to act like glue to dirt and grime either.

Motorex or PJ1 seems to be the best, but I agree, liquid wrench is the shizzzzz. And a third the price
