Thereare tons of them on craigslist and i need another quad before the season. My wife has a rancher 420 4x4 es, i also use this when i go hunting. Anyway i got a couple that im working on craigslist one is a 99 and the other is a 2000. The 2000 looks cleaner and has all kinds of mods. Just wondering if there have been any proiblems with either of these years? Thanks you guys

How much? You can get 05's for like 2500 or less....

Everyone that im looking at they all were asking $2000 to $1700. I have emailed everyone and told them that i only have $1500 to spend, which is true. I have got a couple emails back that say its a go. There is one that has nerfs and a six pack rack and they agreeed to 1500. The other one has an intake, full exhaust, six pack rack also comes with paddles and buggle whip. The guy with all the mods is holding out to see if someone else will offer him more. I think if he doesnt get any hits by this weekend then he will sell to me. So i put the other one with just the nerfs and the six pack rack on hold till sunday. Who knows i could find something else anyway. I just wanted tyo know if there was anything i should know about, ie like tranny problems with a particulure year ect..... Just thought i would consult a group that knows whats up.

The other one has an intake, full exhaust

What do you (or the seller) mean by intake? What type of exhaust is it (not that it really matters much).

I've read Craigslist ads before that used terms like intake (not a term we typically use with a 400ex), or listed strange engine mods like 435 or 417's. I'd go for the most stock engine bike you can find. Bolt on's like nerfs, pipe, bars etc., are fine, but you never know who or what was messing with the engine.
