Im looking for some help. Need to know if this should be fixed or is it a waste of time. Also what to do to prevent it from happening again. Also looking for a new frame DRR 90 Thanks

we broke the top two rails, welded and gussetted with no more problems so far. I went a little over-board...only time will tell. We braced above and below the swinger mount.

if you can see in those pics above around the swing arm mount. so far it works we have tested it a couple times...see pic.

Thanks for the pics I wish we would have did something sooner. The other side is also cracked. Thats some big air my boy loves to jump. He will try any jump at least once lol thats probably why this happened.

After you weld it back togther, add a strap of thicker metal on the lower side (underneath). Basically, thicken up the metal there. My strap it like 4 inchs long and about 1/4 inch thick and 1/2 inch wide.
I sure wish DRR would address these issues. This would be a SIMPLE design change that the little workers could do.
Ya'all think we could get them to make the frames from some 4130 Chromoly? Apex and the others would go out of business! :devil:

We have made custom gussets to strengthen that area and also to help keep the slap out of the swingarm bolt. The threads go into the frame, so when they wear out it causes the swingarm bolt to oval the frame hole.

gary, thats basically what I did and havent had any problems yet, something for everybody to file away is that whenever you weld on something that weld cools and draws or contracts. This is amplified by having too much heat or preheat and when the cooled weld does contract even under normal conditions it will cause stress or warpage on the other side of the tube / pipe.
too much welding and/or too high temperature can actually cause brittle spots. frame above I would fix, cut some short nipples to go inside of tubing for alignment then go at it, just another row in the river of life:D
