Just got my new maier plastic installed. It went pretty good, with the front bolting right up and the rear needing a little "extra care". I still need to get the stock rear seat bracket (sold mine with the fenders :( ) to get it to stop flopping around but it's not bad. I also got my k&k seat cover installed, but the graphics are on backorder. I am glad I ordered the graphics as I can see this plastic scuffing up real easy. Let me know what you think.

The fronts bolted right up for me and were predrilled. No problems and they even included a bracket to relocate the ignition. I had two problems with the rears but one was my fault. The first problem I had (my fault) was the fenders seem to flop around like they have no support. Maier included some L brackets to use the stock rear support "wire" but I don't have mine anymore so I had to order one. Hopefully this will do the trick. The second problem I had was I couldn't get the front of the seat to latch onto the gas tank. The maier front plastic seems to sit higher on the tank which pushes the front of the seat up slightly. This made it impossible to latch it to that bracket that sticks up on the tank. What I did to get around this was put a longer bolt into the bracket with some washers on it to make it sit higher. I was then able to latch the seat to it. Should be pretty easy for ya.

What bothered me about the seat was that it stuck up about an inch off the tank when I sat on it. I figured I would try to fix it and if I couldn't then oh well. Not that big a deal. Still looks better than it did.

I got the plastics from rocky mountain atv and it ran me around $240 shipped. I think the standard front is a little more but not sure.

As far as the black showing scratches, i have thought about it. Thats one of the reasons I want to install the graphics. I am hoping it helps keep the plastic from getting too scuffed. I just always liked black plastic.

Looks trick! It looks just like my R only I have Fullbore plastic. I like the looks over maier, but a 500 $$$ price tag is not COOL!!!

hey with that plastic, did u lose the neutral light and the key switch?

jmoney45

I lost the neutral light but they sent me a bracket for the key switch. Hooks right to the handlebar mount. Pretty kewl.

can i see a picture of it? and i love my neutral light, not that its hard to find it, but its nice to have. Im coming from hard to find 2 stroke neutral. That light is a blessing :p

I don't have any pics of the bracket but it looks like a small circular section of steel with the hole cut out of the middle for the key. It also has two small holes on the side where it mounts to the top of the steering stem. It is pretty sturdy and I am sure maier would sell you just that if you contacted them.
