K&K still sells the grooved front radial tires. Does anyone still run these for MX or have the new crop of MX tires made these a thing of the past? If anyone runs these how do you like them? I may run some flat track on ocasion and thought these might be a good all around MX/Flat track tire. I don't think I ride flat track enough to invest in American racer or Hoosier fronts.

I don't race in the same class as him. He runs the Open money quad and open amateur classes where all the built 450's are. I've only raced at the fair a coulple of times so far. I run in the 400 and 450 or Open knobby quad class. He's good though. It's a rare occasion he doesn't win at the Cookeville and Sparta fairs. I've seen him half track the field in Sparta before.

I use grooved radials sometimes. It depends on the track and if its muddy. Awesome tires for mx in the right conditions. They shine on a dry and hard track, breezewood, rausch creek(when open) and landing mx are good places for them, but again, track conditions can vary.

I love those tires. Here's some pics of them on my 450R...

I sold the 450R and still have the tires in a pile in my shed. I wont get rid of them. I even have some ungrooved ones that I want to custom groove someday...

Thanks guys. Sounds like they work good when conditions are right but may not be the best all around tire. As much as I'd still like to try them I think I may go with the ITP Quadcross fronts. I just put a set of 19in. MXR4's with about 40 to50% thread left on the front that my brother-in-law gave me. I'll see how I like them and go from there.

What wheels were you running them with (offset is really what I'm wondering) and how much air did you run in them? I've never heard this before.

I thought mine were actually more comfortable than my holeshots...

if i remember right, i think i ran 10 pounds in my Riken radials, but the last time i ran them was 12 years ago. i do know you run higher pressure in them!
