My 300 goes through about 1.2-1.6 gallons of fuel after about 2:45-3:15 hrs of riding. I was wondering if that was excessive or about normal. The reason I ask is a friend of mine had a Polaris preditor 500 and he could ride all day on a tank of gas.

If it is excessive could it be the carb is jetted wrong. It has a full big gun quiet exhaust and a uni filter with a 124 main jet. I know it is running a lillte bit rich but I don't think it would be that bad.

Thanks in advance for any help.

it depends on the riding style. were you at full throttle at high revs, or just cruising at a lower rpm

Mid throttle in third, just kind of going easy on the trails

if your riding that whole time at half throttle. thats pretty normal. i'm a mostly half to full throttle guy in all gears lol and i would have to put more fuel in mine before 3 hours of ride time.
