Rear axle problem

Well i went to take the 400 out for a spin and i noticed it was very hard to move and a grinding noise in the rear end. what could it be? rear carrier bearing? Thanks

more than likely.. put it up on a stand and see if you can wiggle either side of the axle (left and right) and if they move you need carrier bearings im currently in the process cause my right side bearing is done

Its most likely that the axel bearings in your carrier have been spent.

It is probably the bearing on the chain side that has gone on you.

Hopefully you will be able to just replace the bearings and it has not trashed the carrier.
