Anybody try the 15 in the front yet ?
What do you think about it ?

I went to a 13 but didnt really like it , to much shifting, and I topped out to quick.

Depends on your style of riding, but I ride more open spaces, and top out alot, and that is all I run is a 15 tooth. I also put around with the kids at 10 mph, and I don't have a problem with that.

I tried the 15T on a trip to the dunes and one to the trails. I switched back to the 14T.

I tried the 15T today for the first time, i only made it 1 1/2 laps on the MX track and i had a ball joint issue and narrowly escaped a wreck and was forced to quit for the day, but i definatly felt the power was lacking down low. I wanna give it another shot before i bo back to the 14T.

JJD,

What size tires are you using?

I think I am going to drop to a 13. It would make for better hill climbs!

well that should help some that you have the smaller diameter tires. was it a pretty bad loss, or just noticible when your at lower RPMs?

Well, i didnt get to give it a decent try but the loss was just down low. I need to order a new ball joint tommorow and expedite shipping so i can get rolling by saturday. I will give a better report if i can do more than a lap and a half. My goal is to get a little more out of second and third gear on a particular track.

How did u like the 15 front sprocket overall? less shifting on the track? u start off in 2nd gear ?? i was finding with a 13 front that i'd top out easily.

Dude your gonna love it. I usually have to slip the clutch out of the hole with my foot on the break. Let it settle down and keep it pinned! Good luck! We are at Walden, NY this weekend.

Raced this weekend with 15:36 gear ratio. AMAZING PULL in 2nd and 3rd. 5th pulls hard and dont over rev at all. Got holeshot , worked great! awsome ratio for the track.

The 15 is tight with a slave saver on it. the 14 37 is pretty close to it also and you only have to buy one gear. I have run the 15 39 before on the IRS and it was nice. I bet with the rekluse it would be real nice in the tight woods.

15 36 2.40
15 37 2.47
15 38 2.53
14 36 2.57
15 39 2.60
14 37 2.64
15 40 2.67
14 38 2.71 Stock
13 36 2.77
14 39 2.79
13 37 2.85
14 40 2.86
13 38 2.92
13 39 3.00
13 40 3.08

this msg is for SSJEFF. okay i dont understand gear ratios, id like to but how did u figure out the numbers on ur last post and wut do they mean .

sleddog66

it is the large no. devided by the small no.
39 devided by 15 = 2.6
The front sprocket will spin 2.6 times per every spin on the large sprocket

Basically what sleddog said. 15f 36r will have the most top speed but the worst take off. 13f 40r will take off like a mad dog(probably pulling the wheels in all gears) but will loose top end really bad.
