After being away from atv's for 10 years, I just bought myself a 2002 300ex with the following mods: Hot Cams stage 1, .040 overbore, and an FMF Powercore 4 exhaust. My question may be a little silly but here goes anyway.

10 years ago, I had an '88 LT250R all stock. I could slide the rear-end anywhere I wanted it to go with Maxxis Razr rear tires and a little bit of throttle. I have Maxxis All Traxx tires on the rear of the 300ex and can't get the rear-end to slide out for the life of me. The tires seem to grab just about anything. Could it be the more rounded style All Traxx tires that are keeping me from sliding the rear end or have I just been away from quads for too long and need to get some more seat time in? Someone with a 300ex help me out here. Thanks.

The tires being more balloonish and maybe get alot more bite could do it. The LT was a 2stroke which tends to do more tire burning then a 4stroke like a 300ex.. I love the 300's but they are nothing like the 450 4strokes for HP tire burning power.
