View Full Version : Cylinder stud length?

I am using a 4mm spacer and when I installed it, the studs seem too short.The stud is even with the top of the nut.Is this okay or do I need longer studs?

i think you can unscrew your stock studs just a little bit! just make sure you use some medium lock tight. dont use the red though! will be hard to get them out if needed to.

i've seen guys use the stock studs but i personally havent. fyi the correct studs are about 4.5mm longer and i believe are the same as the cr500r oem's. :cool:

ive used stock studs before and it worked well. I turned them out about 4 turns and used loctite and waited for a few hours. I torqued them to 40 foot pounds once and the studs held so i dont think you have to worry.

Go down to your local HONDA dealer and order up some of these

Part# 92900-10055-3B

They're from the rear cylinder studs on a '91 CR250

They're 10mm longer than stock 250R studs.

I use them for my STROKER's

get the rear studs from a cr250 did it for my 265 setup and 310

or like stated back them out and use some loctite

good info but i gots a question....... are the studs so tall that they interfere with the allready tight area around the cylinder when trying to intall the nuts? :confused:

400ex dowel pins for the head or cylinder may have to cut them down its what i did

The STUDS are the same length as the ones supplied with the Cylinder kits with the Spacer plates.

I know what ya mean (86 QUAD R) about the nuts in the Pro-X cylinders.....some are very tight to get a wrench in there.....gotta use a thin crescent 14mm wrench....even the Motion Pro torque extender (the wrench we all need) is tight.

I haven't found longer Dowels......400ex you say....I'll have to do some research.

you don't want to try it with a pro-x, even tighter. I had to grind down my torque adapter to fit.

yea 400ex dowels can be used but like i said they have to be cut with a hack saw or a dremel cutting wheel then round the edge with a file or sand paer

Longer Dowels.....

Stock is 12mm x 20mm = Honda Part#94301-12200

Stroker or spacer plate versions

12mm x 24mm = Honda Part#94301-12240
