08 stem on 05

Does anyone know if the steering stem from an 08 450r will fit on a 05 450r? I know the Honda part numbers are different for the stem itself but the bearings are all the same. Has anyone done it? What are the differences between them?

I don't know the difference in stock. But an aftermarket stem designed for an 08+ will work in the earlier models, so I'm assuming the stock one will as well.
