take it back to .018 and give that a try. when you start adding comp, carb and pipe it squeezes out the flame on a stock ignition

Nuthing right now rode it for 10 min and it locked up again. Scored the front half of the cylinder wall and front of the piston. 2nd time, I hate ESR. Right now its getting cleaned and parted out.

if the ports are not shanffered they will catch rings and chew them up in no time when i started to build my blaster years ago i ate up 6 pistons till i brought it some one else to bore it and they told me to finger f**k the cylinder ports with some 400 grit and soap put it together and it lasted 6 months of every day riding and put a stroker in it and ran another hard 4 months till i sold it reringed it with no wear to the piston what so ever now 2 years later the kid still riding it

There's your answer why it wouldn't rev out.......Piston was dragging.
You have a good start for a great motor. Forget ESR and take the cylinder to a good machine shop or engine builder, have it bored, check the port work or castings. Any good or smart machinist will chaffer the ports after boring it.

Don't give up....You could only be $175+/- from a great runner.

This new piston was 150$ and didnt last 8 hrs, i really dont want to get rid of it I just want to get this thing to run for atleast a year with no problems. I had and old bored out ported cylinder that lasted 3 years and my brother old Outlaw 310 lasted 2 years of MX. ESR said its 80$ to bore and didnt really seem to eager to help me. I really want a LTR. Might just get both. Ill get some pics of the damage tomm for all yall to see. what would cause it to burn up on the front side (exh- side) Normally it would be on the intake side.

Are you kidding? $80 for a bore? In my area (NW) it's $35 to $45 max for a bore.

What size is your piston? I just bought one for a friend that was $75

I had my cylider bored by RB Racing in Michigan. I think it was $35 for the bore/hone/port chamfer, and he was very reasonable on the poring as well; $125+/- if I remember correctly. Now I'm no 250R guru, but the thing runs good for what I have into it...that's what I DO know.

His number is 517-388-3662. I believe his name is Robert- he was very helpful and didn't forget about me after the sale, either.

I bought my entire Wiseco 67.5mm piston, needle bearing, and gasket kit for $156 on ebay. I say fix it...

Did they relieve the exhaust bridge?
Does the front of the piston have any oil passage holes?

Yeah the front of the piston has two small weep holes.
