How does one scrub a quad and does it actually get you to the ground faster like a dirtbike?

i dont really really see how it would be possible. when a bike is flat, it takes up less space. if you jump and turn a quad to the side it would probably take up more space, lol

Can't quite 'scrub' a quad the same way that you can a bike.....so I guess technically you can't actually scrub a quad. The actual 'scrub' term comes from nearly touching the handlebars on the face of the jump.....from leaning the bike over.

Part of scrubbing a bike involves your motion in the air.....which obviously a quad can do. Basically just a vertical flare.......using the drag of a broader surface area to slow you down.

Here is a mild scrub......a shot I took at Archer's Lodge (MXPE) in Clayton, NC.

On a quad you can just soak it up just kind of push the quad into the face of the jump to stay lower.

The most effective way on a quad is to use front brake on the face..

Basically all you can do on a quad is soak up as much as possible with your body when you hit the lip of the jump.

You can scrub a quad on a pyramid jump.

you can scrub a quad. you can't turn it side ways like a bike. but like they said. you basicly take all the "preload" out with your body, and instead up bouncing up. you just go strait

here are my "scrubs"

you cant really scrub consistently on a quad, you can minimize preload by allowing your body to take up some of the compression a face of a jump the shock normally would allowing you to stay lower.....the only way ive really found to scrub on a quad is to cross rut in a sense on the face which ive found is risky and near impossible to do consistently during a race, or if the jump is out of a corner and your turning on the face you can get the *** end out controllably and "scrub" that way by allowing your quad to powerslide up the face to an extent... the main way bikes make time is there actually changing there flight path... a quad your not really there much too heavy to do the same manuever, you can to extent but youd have to be very very very good to do it consistent

As you can see in the 2nd picture, it's easiest to scrub a quad on a pyramid jump.

how i "scrub" is like how wienen does from time to time and thats push down on the bike when i go for a landing. sinc ei can't brake in the air without it stalling or being a harsh landing i try to remember elbows up and lean forward as much as a i can considering my disability
