Is this quad worth it????

I'm looking at purchasing a new quad and my decision has come down to a 08 DS 450X or a 08 Outlaw 450MXR??? Now my big concern is with issues other people have had? What should i watch for on the DS? And is $$8250 to much for an 08 450X thats still in the crate?? Any info at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Oh ya i will be racing motocross with this new machine. Thanks again.

Don't know much about Canada, but they are going for 4500-5000 around these parts. Yes that's new!

Yeah I was going to say 08's are going for much cheaper around here. And for MX the DS blows the outlaw out of the water. If it was desert/dune riding the outlaw would be really good, but not as much for MX.

ya i do alot of trails, and pit riding. but i also race motocross alot to. I'm just kind of scared about what i have read on the forums about the DS bending the frame and the clutch issue. I haven't heard anything bad about the Outlaw, but i also haven't heard anything saying it's great. And whats with the ECM issue?? Is it cured when i get the race one??

Clutch problem will be fixed at the dealer prior to your pickup, frame's aren't that much of a worry, and I have yet to have, or hear about an ECM related issue.

The frames are not an issue w the DS, no more than any other manufacturer and not nearly as weak as a Honda 450r frame. Any frame will bend if hit right, do not worry about the DS frame.

The clutch is an easy recall fix

and if you are refering to the Limp Mode in the stock ECU, you can have the dealer adjust the temp setting so it wont come on nearly as easy and if you get the Stage 1 Package w the race ECU there is no limp mode any longer. If you are rfering to anything else on the ECU, there are no consistant problems with them.

yes we european should do that!

i buy most my quad parts from usa! usualy pay 100$ in shipping, then 30% in tax...so if the parts costs 400$, i pay 650$....and it's still 20-50% cheeper then buy parts from a dealer her:( ooh one more thing thats great over her is gasprices, gas costs like 6,5$ a gallon right now and thats cheep, last summer it was around 9:mad:
