Went up this weekend again for another great trip to St. Clair PA. We have only been up there a few times now and still trying to learn all the area reading anthracite has to ride on, the area is Huge!!! I dont think ive had much more fun than i do in the Rhino up there either. Its a blast! Heres a few pics ive just uploaded of the trip, more to come.... My wife and I have the Yellow rhino, and a buddy of mine and his wife were in the green one.

For the area they offer us to ride, the $100 is well worth the cost and who said anything about for 3 months, you can basically go there all year, just need to be dress for the weather.

Been there many times but do not recall that lake or even those big boulder, where is that located and do you park at WalMart, that's where we park. We are going up there this Friday, can't wait!! the weather is suppose to be nice :)

St-Clair is North of Pottsville off SR 61. There are a few places to park of the road but been told that some of their vehicles were damage either by rocks been throw off the bikes or local yo! yo! Usually we park in the WalMart parking lot which is ok by the managers as long as you park as far as possible from their entrances. It's real cool and fun and well worth the cost.

Hey whats up?

I figure it this way, it cost around $40-$50 to go to any track around here for gate and riding fees. So paying $100 to ride all year long anytime you want was worth it for me!

The lakes, waterfalls, and boulders we have found are tucked pretty deep into the woods. I have a GPS in my rhino that i have tracked everything so far and marked the cool spots, it makes it nice!

We also park in the parking lot too. Ive heard too many stories of idiots messing with peoples trucks and trailers. I guess there is always gonna be people that try to ruin it for everyone else.

Im gonna head up again this weeked(more than likely sat.). Cant wait either! I never thought i could have as much fun as racing mx, but crusing the rhino around up there is just as fun if not more!

Anyone know of anymore RAC spots to ride that are larger areas that would be Rhino friendly?

It would be cool to get a good group of people from the site here to have a group ride there.

Thank you
Justin

If you want to meet some good people which also ride Rhino, go to www.theatvzone.site and look for a member call ziggy, he has a campground in Pottsville (Family Oriented) but if you're mellow than you're welcome. They always have group ride, was there this summer and we were about 15 riders, Ziggy knows the area by heart and it's fun riding with them. He charges $20 per vehicle to park at his campground which is right off the trails. I go there once in awhile but also like taken off from WM then come back and have lunch there or even get a cool drink. There's also White Haven which is North East of St-Clair, look for Hazleton, pa. It's coal mining area not own by RAC but if you treat the property with respect then they'll let you ride there. We go there almost every Sunday and always find new trails/hills The trails are about the same width as St-Clair but some of them are wider.

Do you ever download your gps info and create maps. I use ExpertGPS software to create a map then use www.gpsvisualizer.com to view a satellite map. Here are some of my maps http://www.bing.com/maps/?v=2&encType=1&cid=BF3A9636776D6A5E!189

once the link is open, you can either select Aerial or Bird's eye views. See if you can tell where that lake is and let me know.

Thanks,
JoeB

For some odd reason the last part of the link !189 should be included so you might have to copy and paste the link onto your web browser then add that !189 at the end. Let me know if it works.

Yeah! Sad part is that ever since 911 we can not go to the dam or reservoir unless you want to go to jail, fine $2,000 and lose your bike for good. Guess that they are very strict about those areas and they even patrol the power line trail near some of those reservoirs. We were lucky last week not been caught since we were at one of the reservoirs.

Now, this is what I've been told by Ziggy.

We got stopped last weekend sitting at wolfcreek. A guy in a white pickup came up and took pic's of our rhinos then gave us the speech almost word for word of what you just said Nash04. He was pretty cool about it and just gave us a warning.

Its a shame all of the idiots in the world have to ruin spots like that for everyone else.

Im thinking of heading to trevorton next weekend with the rhinos. Is there much open area there to ride over there? Im not much on the huge hillclimbs, just looking for open area to explore really.

Thank you
Justin

I just got my permit and was here 6/20/10 for the first time parked on Burma rd and explored both sides of the road. Awesome place , as for wolfcreek I met 2 fathers who had their young boys out for the day and they asked me if I've ever been to the dam I told them this was first time and they asked if I wanted to check it out. when we got to the dam there was plenty of people coming and going and taking a dip in the water to cool off. I questioned many people about the fact that I saw posted signs and every person all said the same thing don't litter or destroy anything and they won't bother you. Was it a Saturday or Sunday you got the warning from the guy? How did this guy with a truck get to the dam? south end of the dam ?
As stated before it's the idiots that litter and vandalize that ruin it but if we all do our part to police the litter bugs and bad apples and even pick up some trash from time to time we might possibly show the land owners that not all of us are the bad apples.

I'd have to say there were about 50 lucky people 6/20/10 cause traffic to wolfcreek was insane. It's all a scare tactic the sad part is that the only people getting scared and staying away are the ones not causing problems. How many years have all those trails been there ? Does anyone know when that dam was built and the pit was turned into res.?

just watch ... a few weeks ago there where 2 jeeps that got submerged in the spillway at wolfcreek... after that happened the patrols from pennsylvania state police and mahanoy township police have greatly and i mean greatly increased... as far as that guy that was mentioned to be a scared tactic, he's the security for the water dams... there are a few entrance's he use's to gain access to the dams ... i know this becuse i live in that area... just trying to help you out... don't want to see you get in trouble

I agree I myself want no trouble just hoping I learn all the trails quickly so I don't end up to close. are those the same jeeps that the lady at RAC has the article on her desk ?

dont know what you are refering to RAC, but yea i would seriously avoid that area... its not safe ... there are plenty of areas outside of st. clair ... like the shenadoah, mahanoy city area..

Hi, Can you be more specific of the area you are speaking of in White Haven? I would love to take my boys for a ride there.
Thanks Dave
