View Full Version : I Am The Proud Owner Of My First Quad!!

I am a newer member to the forum and i joined to get some input on my first quad. Today i made a deal with a kid to trade my decent 2003 kx 85 for a decent 2002 trx 300ex :D its a nice quad but the previous owner had a cobra exhast on it :( it blew up on him so the headpipe is still a cobra but the muffler is stock. The kid jetted the carb for the exhast and now it does not like to idle but once its REALY warm it will. Im very proud of this and i have BIG plans. 400ex a arms 450r front shocks cut plastics grafix kit 450r swingarm and rear axle new tires nerf bars every thing i dont plan to race it a ton but maybe a little. i will posty some pics tomorrow cause im goin riding already haha. well just had to tell SOMEONE about this lol

you need new rear tires lol but it looks like you did alright. before you buy stock takeoff stuff from the 400 and 450r see if you can find a decent aftermarket front end off a 400 for cheap you'll be much happier.

The tires look alot balder in that pic than in person. Plus he inflated them more cause they were kinda flat. It helped the tread stick out a little better.

Ya Mike, look for aftermarket first. Then stock stuff. But we gotta get those plastics heat gunned ASAP!

Those are solid bikes you look after it and it will look after you;)

by the way if your gonna go back to stock jets they are 38pilot and 122 main just in case you needed to know

A frown face after Cobra exhaust and you're relatively new to the forums?!

Cobra is the absolute worst exhaust you can buy!

my first day riding and im already used to it. yes i do need tires all of them cause the left front one has a leak so i might as well replace all of them im thinking the Kenda Claws those arent too expensive and iv heard they last long. i have some pics now

just found out that the left front tire has 2 plugs in it and fix a flat doesnt help. i cant realy afford tires eighther and i need all 4.i like the quad though for 2 days of riding im getting the hang of this whole two wheels on both sides thing. you dont know how much i want to stick my inside foot out in turns lol. the possibility of racing next year is definatley in my head now

GRRR! I have a cobra on my 86 Fourtrax 250 utility and am pretty partial to it! Lol. It doesn't sound like a cobra that you have in mind. (The old ones that always seem to end up on on Warriors and 300EX's. Not any better than a DG IMO):devil:

ya this one blew up so its the stock muffler so i have to re jet the carb
