You broke a GT HD stud at 33ftlb? That just makes me like them even less. What did GT have to say about this?

I'm not running a 440 but I do have an 11:1 piston and I torqued mine to 34. I have had not problems and I beat the crap outa mine.

gt thunder never heard about it cuz i got the cylender with the studs installed... i put a 440 sleeve in it and went to run it, ill set them at 34ft-lbs to start but what if i have a head gasket leak then what do i do? they dont have a "recommended torque" or anything?

Just remember that you are tightening down onto and into aluminum. Overtightening may cause the aluminum to fail when it gets hot. For this reason I only went 1 foot lbs. over factory specs.

why do you not like gt thunder. the studs are only rated for stock torques but the threads are whats bigger, it has deep long threads the stock has short skinny threads. they are the best thing you can get for the 440 kits and like. and decently priced.
