Need help with hood scoop on a 400EX!!

I am interested in getting a scoop for my 400 and want a carbon fiber one. The thing is what all do you have to do to install one? How much cutting is involved? What kind do you recommend? I would like one similar in the picture below. Could some one help?

This is my 400....Do you think it would look all right? Or should I leave it alone because it would mess up my graphics kit.

Leave it your quads wickid now...that hood doesn't look to great anyway :p IMO

I don't know how it would look with your WB graphics, but I really like the looks of the carbon hoods. Good luck

u have to hack your headlights off! and then drill holes for the bolts ant thats about it jsut make sure everything is lined up and it will look awesome!!! if u have the money get a quad tech hood there awesome and i think they can get em with a red tint to the carbon fiber!!!

Dont get that hood, thats the feather carbon one and it is too boxy. The quad tech hood is sweet plus they now make a direct fit one for the 400EX instead of trying to fit a 250R hood on there.
I also really like the looks of the new FIBE hood that has showed up on this board, its fiberglass and cheaper...like $125 I think.
Im going to end up going with the FIBE hood Im pretty sure.

I love your 400 BrianWrightR6 your one of the best Red 400.I think if I put on my old red plastic it would that model of 400 I want!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have air shrouds on my 400ex made and i got there fiberglass ones but they do offer it in carbon fibre and kevlar. they use some shiny plastic stuff on the outside. its some sort of gelcoat i think.There made by SXR and they focus on cooling the cylinder head and oilcooler and i found it made a huge difference so i went and got there headlight conversion kit and dropped some weight in the front. My quad looks mint now. i'll post pic. SXR doesnt have a web page. if you call them at 1-780-892-2498 and ask for Justin he should send you a pic.

What do you do to your 400 to be Very clean in all your picture because in the other picture your 400 is all dirty and in the other picture it's very clean.

I take it to a car wash and spray it off really good and then take it back home and wash it with some soap and water and let it dry. Then I use the Son of a Gun foam in a can and use about half of that on it! Spray it on everything!
