Hey,

Don't be bashing Works shocks now. They are way better than stockers, I love mine. I don't have "endless pockets" like some of you. Works was the best I could afford.

Trust me, If I didn't have a $1800/month house payment and 2 cars and all my other bills, I would have have PEP ar Axis or whatever. So take it easy on Works...:grr

Is there anyway possible that could be caused by a jump? :huh

the exact same thing happened to me, its what happens if you don't get your shocks rebuilt often. The Works without rezzies are garbage (what I used to have, the bent shock in the pic), They wore out sooo fast. but I have works with rezzies now and they're very nice. I've abused the **** out of em for as long as i've had em and they're still holding up well.

Some guy will buy them really cheap, and then have them rebuilt. Baldwin could fix those.

I noticed the shock mount from the a-arm still bolted to the shock, lol. That must have hurt, how did it happen?

works shocks arent that bad, but there known for bending easily!!!

I'd bet you weren't doing big jumps at all when you ripped the arm mount of too
If you knew you were going to be jumping the big stuff, why not get better ones? Don't bash works too much, sure beats paying a whole lot more if you don't do big doubles, etc.

I'd rather pay 300 bucks for a pair of works than 800 bucks for some other front ones :p :p :blah lol.

Well, it's your money, do like you do everything else: it has to be cheap, but if you use it more than it's rated" it was all works fault" ROFL LMAO.

personally id rather save up and buy good shocks, no having to replace cheap ones all the time then!!!

you dont seem to intelligent to me ^

used wrong, any shock can snap, now if i showed you a pic of a Axis shock bent, you would say it was a stocker painted like that, works actually, valved and rebuilt and treated right, will work with the best

It looks to me like the shock mount broke off first, and then the shock got jammed into the ground and that is what bent the shaft.

That is correct, I have seen this at least a dozen times. Most common cause is bent a-arms and/or frame. I have also seen it on aftermarket a-arms (all from one manufacturer). What happens is on most of the Works shocks - the bottom and top are not forgiving to side load. If the shock mounts dont line up correctly - the side load on the shock will bend the shaft easily.

Another problem - and I have done this and know of a lot of shock guys that hae done this. When stiffening up the shock it is easy to stiffen the shock beyond what the 1/2 inch shaft can handle

Solution - heavier shafts and/or line up the shock mounts.

thats impossible, the shock is 21" long but it can't have 21" of travel, I think they might have around 11" of travel but I'm not sure on that, the stock shocks are only 16.5" long

How much would it cost to get these bad boys rebuilt-revalved?

those are not the new works shocks, those are the stadium shocks, the large spring set just makes them look big. I have a set of those and like them very much. Any shock shaft will bent if the a-arms or shock mounts are ripped off in a crash!! I rebuild my shocks my self, they may not need a revalve but for sure need a rebuild and maybe a new body if there has been exessive side loading of the piston on the in body.
