I'm trying to get my front wheel off of my 400ex and it will not budge off of the studs. The lug nuts are off but I can't figure out why it wont come off (Douglas Red Label Wheels) I have tried spraying the studs with WD-40 and kicking/hitting the tire with a mallet and nothing. I have tapped on the studs thinking that might loosen it but nothing works. Any ideas?

Hit it harder! There is nothing that should be holding it on. Hit the top a couple times then the bottom. Just dont keep hitting one spot all the time has to come off square.

make sure you use a board so you don't bend the chit out of your wheel.... spin the wheel and hit.. so you don't keep hitting one spot...

If it was mine I'd unbolt the hub from the axle, set the tire on the ground hub side down and squarely strike the hub down off the wheel with a chunk of 4x4 and a big hammer.

Just go ride it around in the top of 4th or 5th gear.
do a couple of doubles, pin it through some whoops.
IT'll come off sooner or later !!!

every tool box needs a BFH. when in doubt use the BFH. and hit it hard.

You cannot use stock (tapered) lug nuts on after market wheels,it mashes the aluminum from the wheel into the threads and really locks the wheel on .You have to flip the nut over or get new flat nuts. A 2x3 and heavy hammer ,small taps close to hub should get it off.... Good Luck

Well I ended up finally getting it off without doing any damage to the studs or lug nuts. I threaded the lug nuts on the studs slightly and tapped (with some force) the end of the studs a couple times and that freed the wheel up. I will never put the lug nuts back on that way again. What a pain.
