after jacking around with this thing, I'm at my wits end.
I KNOW it's supposed to be an easy mod., but I'm no guru at jetting so,...
here's my question,
IF, your pilot jet is too large,....
does that make the A/F , screw/setting, impossible to adjust ?

the deal is, I've done the 450r carb install, "by the book", But I can not seem to get the idle down to an acceptable level.

it is my imperssion, that I SHOULD be able to adjust it to where it is too LOW, and therefore have some adjustability, to bring it UP to an acceptable level.

But no matter what I do, it WONT/CANT be adjusted to where it wants to stall, (or at least be too low), and therefore, I can not find/adjust, to the highest/ preferred, idle speed.

So again I ask,...
if the pilot jet is too big,....
does that mean my A/F screw adjustment, will be rendered useless ???

Almost seems as if though maybe the float is sticking? Throttle cable adjusted to tight to where that is holding it open? Mines is not idleing right either until after it has been running a few minutes. But mine is low idle not idle too high. If I adjust the idle scew I can shut it off or crank it up to prolly about 2000 rpms. I wouldnt think your pilot is too high. I have read the article on jets r us a hundred times this week trying to get mine. Have you read that?

1. what did you do about the hot start port?
2. are you using a 450 throttle cable?
3. is the idle screw turned the right way? i was turning mine the wrong way when installing it and couldnt get it to idle down either until i figured that out.

x2 on the hot start, check it. Make sure it's plugged with the OE Honda plunger.
