starter issues

my buddys 06 yfz is havin some starter problems he put in a new battery and it will crank over regular but after it cranks a few secounds it wounds down and just stops cranking dosent make any noise or anything, he can turn the key off and back on it will crank for few again then it stops crankin:confused: :confused:

could be anything dude wires shorting solenoid with electrical there is so many variables. thats why i love having a kick starter gutted harness removed starter and starter gear. my sponsor called me this week and asked if i had my old starter laying around i said yea and brought it into them because they had a yfz that wasnt starting. my starter and starter gear worked. the brand new aftermarket one they put in was bad. just goes to show ya u dont ever know with theses things man.
