So I have a 05 450r, new radiator cap. Went through the cooling system, its not air locked and the overflow tank is about 1/4 full but when I go out for a moto I get antifreeze out of the overflow tube but it doesn't fill the tank, or the tank isn't full when I'm done riding it. Any ideas on what could be causing it?? I'm stumped

So you're saying it comes out the overflow tube and you're missing coolant when your done riding?

If that's the case I had an issue on my 04 where the headgasket leaked slightly between the cylinder and the coolant ports which caused the radiator to almost pressurize, which then forces the coolant out, which meant I had to constantly add fluid. After replacing the headgasket it fixed the issue.

That's the wierd thing when I take off the cap the radiator is full, its like it boils over mid moto then its fine. Its a stupid stupid problem

Is`nt your over flow tube connected to the over flow tank?

Mine ar`nt eather!
All three of them!
When/IF it gets hot it over flows to the tank, and gets pulled back to the radiator.

This is my understanding.

i hav the same problem...but it it comeout of the overflow hose because i dont put it in the stem because it doesnt hav a hole and so its placed to where when it overflows it ends up all over my right nerf bar...so i know it is coming out of that tube and yea the tank isnt ever full either???:ermm:

if your radiator is staying full but just some coolant is blowing out of the overflow its normal, go to homedepot or lowes and buy a long piece of 3/16" i think tubing and run it from the tank to the ground, my bikes always blow it out, i never fill the overflows past the low line, i just put a long hose on so the coolant doesnt get all over everything. your overflow still has some coolant in it after a moto right?

mine did the same thing. I just let it puke out till it found its happy spot and now its fine. the radiator is full with the overflow just under the low level.

i had the same problem and after changing head gasket it never did it agian.
