View Full Version : New 300ex Owner, couple of questions
Hello all. Just picked up a 93 300ex and already started to mod it. Sourcing the parts from a 400ex to widen the front end. Now looking to stretch the rear. I have been reading threads and fully understand that the swingarm and axle from a 450r will work. I believe I read somewhere that the 400ex axle will fit in the 450r swingarm, is this correct? If so, what parts for the 400ex do I need to use in order for this to work correctly? Here is the list I am thinking will work:
450r swingarm
250r shock
400ex axle
400ex carrier
400ex hubs
400ex brakes
400ex sprocket
Anything I am missing or will not work? Thanks for the help.

Keep in mind that you will have to weld a bracket onto the 300ex frame to accommodate the link for the 450R swingarm. The 300 is a no-link setup while the 400 and 450 both take links for the rear shock.
