yamalube, same as the above post.

i just have a Twin-air filter becasue my stocker ripped. if anything, you should get an FCI intake, by fuel customs. K&N and Ron-wood also make similar intakes.

i have a UNI foam filter and wouldnt ever think about puttin a K&N on my bike for sure.

yamalube 20w50 thicker is better. this is a high performance engine you've got on ur hands

also i have a brand new UNI filter for stock airbox stock intake still in package ill sale for 27shipped the price tag has 35 on it

I also run a modquad intake with the oversized k&n. The fci is overpriced and it might make 1/2 hp more than the modquad but you're not gonna feel much of a difference. I run yamalube 10-40 and am switching to amsoil on my next change. I just did some motorwork and it has break in oil in it now. And thicker is not always better. It depends on the temperature, if it's pretty warm than ya run the 20-50 but in the winter run the 10-40.

Pro Design Pro-Flow Intake with the Uni filter. Great set up. I only run Amsoil 20w50.

dont own any yet, but my vote, hands down, engine ice, LOL

as for intakes, i beg to differ, the FCI will yield more performance than a clamp on filter. towards the end it gets rather narrow before returning to a circle before the carb. the FCI eleminates this, and the sharp bend right after the filter. i think thats worth a 'lil more than a 1/2 HP.

just a heads up, the FCI will also accept a Prodesign/UNI replacement clamp on air filter for all of the foamers out there.

I have talked to several engine builders and told them I had the mod quad adapter with the k&n and asked them if it would be worth it to get the fci intake. They said for the little bit of power increase you wouldn't even notice it. My k&n isn't the replacement for the stock it is 4 1/2 inches across the opening of the filter. So for the extra 80 bucks it's not worth the minimal increase you will get. Now if you are coming from stock to the fci and want to shell out that much cash then ya you are gonna notice it, but you would also notice it with the modquad one also.

my friend has the Velocity/K&N, and it has 33% more filter area then that of the mod-quad or the Pro-Design. still, there wasnt that much of a difference. dont get me wrong, its a good filter, but the FCI should work much better, according to what ive heard.

How does that have more filter area than the mod quad. Just wondering. My k&n filter is so big it barely fits in the airbox. So I don't see how it can have 33% more filter area.

My vote goes to ESR intake. Unless you're looking to keep your box of course.

you know that little black end cap on youre filter? well, add a reverse K&N cone onto that, and violla, 33% more area.
