i have a stock 400ex stage one hot cam k and n air filter, outerwears pre filter, drd slip on at about 600 ft abpove sea level

I sm at 158 main, needle 3rd clip from top,42pilot 2 1/2 turns out on air fuel screw. sound close.

sounds about right, maybe a bit rich on the main. maybe a 155 would be a bit better how does the plug look? i ran a 150 at 1500 ft with my t-4 slip on and k&n so you should be right around perfect for that low. steve

the pllug looks like it is lean

put in a 160 then and give it a try. steve

i went to the 170 and it sputters at top end what do you think.

then go back down one jet at a time until it runs best and the plug looks good. you are running rich now. steve

should i move my needle down 1 notch.

i wouldnt yet, get the main good first then you can fine tune the needle if you need to. steve

Just remember the needle affects the main also.

what needle position where you running at and what pilot and fuel air screw mixture for the procircuit when you were using the 150 main.

i had the needle on the 3rd clip, the f/a around 3 turns out and a 38 pilot while i had my t-4 and k and n. this was with the air box on also. this was with the dj stuff but, i had a 138 dj, and the dj needle when i was running that stuff. that was the keihin conversion for the 150. i tried to pm you back last night but your box was full. lol, steve
